Finally figured out the ears of corn. Going to check back on them in the morning. If I still like them I will sew them to the wall and sew the final tacking that I have pinned on the front. That was the last element on the last wall. Nice to be at this point of the playhouse. Easy parts left to finish this off.
The ears of corn are getting the best of me. I think I am on version five now. I was more worried about the tractor and I am happy with that right now. Going to run a few errands and hopefully the ears of corn will start growing on me.
In the meantime, I knocked of a long over do item off my list. One of the ladies that works for me has a mother in a nursing home and was in need of a cell phone holder she could wear around her neck. This should do the trick. It is big enough that she shouldn't struggle with getting it out and not so big that she feels like she is carrying a big purse with her.
I need to step away from the tractor wall for a while. I see some changes I need to make to the tractor pattern but it is getting closer to the way I want it. 
I made a couple signs that can be attached with velcro.

And above the dog house door. I should do one more over the main door to the play house.
One of the guys I work with is adopting his second child. Not a topic you want to get me started on today. 
Thanks for convincing me to go with the floral curtains. I think it was a good choice. I moved a few of the flowers to the window box. Glad to have this wall done. 
The velcro'ed hearts on the tree can be swapped out for leaves. 
My Christmas gift from David. It is a mahogany spice cabinet we found at the antique mall last weekend. I kind of knew he was going back to get it. I can't wait to load up the little drawers. 
I took some time to sort out the buttons my mother and grandmother gave me. I kept looking for specific buttons and now I will be able to find them easily. 
In the buttons I found some wooden beads that I could use for the necklaces my mother crocheted. I really like the look of these. I haven't been able to find beads I liked and will probably make some out of sculpy clay to get what I want. But the wooden beads will work for a few of them.

One of the ladies that works for me needed this done for a family friend for Christmas. I was happy to embroider it. 
I went back to the first wall of the play house and added a double heart window to it. It was a toss up between a heart and a princess crown opening for the window. The heart won out being the eaiser choice.
I traded the dog dish for the puppy in the dog house. The wall looks a little bare but once I add the velcro dots for the leaves, hearts and apples it shouldn't need anything else. Anyone under the age of 7 should fit through the door with no problem.
Last weekend I lost a pair of embroidery scissors. Sometimes I knock stuff off the table into the trash by accident. I sorted through a very full trash can and couldn't find them. Picked up everything off the tables and floor, still no luck. And then today I was digging for some fabric and what do I find?? Blue handled scissors blended in perfectly with the blue fabric. If you enlarge the photo you might be able to see them on top of the owl fabric on the far right. Now if I could just find my missing camera charger I would be set. 
I need help on the curtains for the playhouse. Should I use the white flower sheer fabric or the bright flower fabric? What do you like better? I am procrastinating the window so you may have a few days to offer an opinion. 
A few weeks ago Karen at Sew Many Ways posted on her Tool Time Tuesday about using tension rods for a ribbon holder. Of course I had to try that. Emptied two boxes off ribbon off the shelf and used the wasted space above my serger thread, which will probably be moved in a few days. 
In our shopping adventure yesterday we found this shelf unit at the antique mall. Hopefully my serger thread will fit in it. Just need to take some time to get it mounted to the wall.
Got the tree appliqued to the pink side. While I was at it I decided to put the other half on the green side.
Then I decided to go for the easy project and applique the dog house. If you can't tell I am really avoiding the windows on the pink side. I am headed back to the sewing room to go for another easy project on the play house... if I can find an easy project. 
I have the pieces for the second wall of the play house. David and I did some last minute Christmas shopping this morning. The boys are leaving in a few minutes to go see Tron and I get the rest of the day to myself. Hopefully I can get most of the window and window box completed today.
The flowers have taken over the little garden by the door. Can't wait to get another wall done and replant some of them.

While I was serging the satin for the inside of the fleece caps my thread boxes fell of the table. What a mess. Took me a while to get them untangled and sorted. 
The walls will be attached to the top but tie together on the sides. I still need to make and attach a door.
And then need to cut out and finish the inside of the mailbox. Every play house needs to be able to receive mail. 
I have looked at these little card table playhouses online in the past. We just don't have little kids around us at this point in our lives. And I am in no rush for grandkids of my own. So no need to make one.
If I do window panes the window will have curtains or I may just totally change it out for a puppet theatre instead. Haven't decided yet. Have an idea in my head how to make the flowers removable from the "dirt" so they can be picked. Love the hearts on the tree. Thinking about having them interchangable with leaves... apples etc.
The tree will wrap around to the "boys" side. Make the opening to the dog house an entrance to the play house. More removable flowers and maybe a bird or two.
Tractor window open to the inside of the play house. Removable carrots, corn ears and more flowers. Still think I need to add a pig, got to figure that out.
Then back to the main entrance. Door will be an opening to the play house with a window. Mailbox will open for letter delivery. And the door may need an awning or something over the top.

My husband has had the Turbo-Face since he got the Mustang back in September. And I actually got to drive it last weekend.
Remember when I bought all those glass paper weights? I finally started working on them this weekend. My intention was to always use them as Christmas gift for co-workers. So I am right on schedule. This also gave me an excuse to scrap the dust off my Xyron machine. The Christmas fabric is from a swap partner for a fat 1/8th swap. The fabric is so my style. 
Another one of the guys from Mexico is a new father. My boss thought I bought the blanket and embroider the name on it. I take that as a compliment. The double sided flannel blankets are a snap with the serger. Temps in the 20's this week, so hopefully Marcelo will stay warm.
And put this under the category of things I didn't know. Satin keeps African American hair from being damaged. Satin pillow cases and satin lined hats are highly sought after. Guess I never really thought about it. My intern asked if I would line some hats with satin for her nieces for Christmas. She is buying the hats but it would be simple to make them also. We will see how this project goes. 
Leave a long thread tail at the end of serging.
Thread it into a large eye, long needle. I have a set of doll needles I use.
Pull the needle and thread through the serged seam.
And it buries the thread so it doesn't unravel.
They do take forever to stitch out on the machine. About 45 minutes each if the thread doesn't break. I like the depth of the varigated thread.
The metalic thread is so thin and breaks really easily. They are stitched on "wash and gone" stabilizer. Just dip into water and the ornament is all that is left behind.
