Memorial Weekend

The photo is for my Mom.
Saturday was spent washing and vacuuming the cars. Luckily Mason did most of it. I spent most of the day running between the driveway helping Mason and the upstairs spare bedroom closet helping David. I got nothing done I wanted to.

Sunday was spent doing yard work and gardening. We also bought a new swing for the backyard. Instructions said it would take 30 minutes. Mason and I spent two hours working on it. I think most of that time was spent reading the instructions 5 or 6 times to understand what they meant.

And this morning was more gardening. We got the water system all setup. If I can just figure out how to program the timer I will have a pretty hassle free garden all summer long.

Heading outside to enjoy the swing and watch David grill. No rain in the forecast which means no sewing in the forecast.

And The Winner Is...

And the winner of the Sew, Mama, Sew giveaway day(s) is...

Laura and if I had to guess her last name is Selph.

Laura I have sent you an email message.

Yikes. Now I need to find a box.

I hope everyone had fun blog surfing for Sew, Mama, Sew.

I was wishing for rain over Memorial weekend. Looks like it is going to be sunny and full of yard work. The sewing list is growing unless I can get some good rain days.

Day #3 - Slacker

I never could get close to a computer long enough to add the third day giveaway for Sew, Mama, Sew. So if you have hung around with me long enough to make it to today I will leave this open until noon Central time. Just leave a comment and I will randomly pick a winner this afternoon.
The scarf is approximately 8x30 inches. Nice fun weight for summer.

Just leave a comment on this post before noon today (5/26) for your last chance to have all three items sent to you.

Rainy Day

It has rained all morning. Which is a good thing it gave me time to work on the twins playhouse.
The Cafe needs a little "Today's Special" board in the upper right corner. My neighborhood Hancock Fabrics doesn't have any chalkboard fabric. I will be on a mission this week to find some. The overall construction is done. When I finally got the walls sewn together I  really fell in love with the whole playhouse again. Just need to create a few accessories to go with it.

When the rain stops I will set it up in the backyard and get some photos of it.

Don't forget that Monday the 23rd is the Sew, Mama, Sew giveaway day.

Just a Little More

A little more work done on the twins playhouse.
Addison and Kaylee will be able to change the name of the cafe depending on who is running it for the day. Just need to cut a hole for the window, add the curtains and this side will be done.

I even had time to make a loaf of banana bread this afternoon.

Are You Ready?

I might actually finish the twins playhouse this weekend.
The door to the house and mail box are finally done.
Can even open the mail box to put mail inside.
Hoping it rains in the morning and I can finish this early.

Etsy Store

I need to figure out how to blog from my iPhone so I keep you more up to date. The 14 bags of lawn cuttings and huge pile of branches by the curb are proof that I have been busy.

I created my Etsy account over two years ago but never put anything in the store. One of the ladies at my office has been pestering me nonstop to setup the store. She wanted to buy a couple things and I wouldn't take her money. I finally caved this weekend. Mason had some free time so I have put him in charge of that project. Of course with him going to the U of Memphis the tiger print hangers are his favorite. If you want to take a look in the store feel free to click here.

Someday List

And while I am at it. This one is on my "someday" list also.
The tutorial can be found here.

No sewing for me this weekend. Have a couple things to embroider tonight then heading out early in the morning for my in-laws in East TN for the weekend.

I Promise

A couple weeks ago I saw a post on a blog with cutest portable play bakery tutorial. Complete with its own oven and goodies to bake. Thinking to myself there are no little ones in my life that would make one for I moved on. Of course this morning I was talking to a co-worker and she was describing her niece playing tea party and it sounded like something perfect for her.

So now I am kicking myself for not sharing a link to it with all of you. If I had I wouldn't be scrambling to find the blog. How in the world am I going to figure out which blog I saw it one weeks ago? I wasn't even sure how many weeks ago I saw it. I started scrolling through my list of followed blogs trying to think who could have posted it. It did take a little hunting but when I saw the name ikatbag I knew she was so creative I had to go see it was her that posted the tutorial. Jackpot.

So here is the link to the portable bakery and from here on out I promise when I see super cute ideas I will post the link. And while you are there check out the other tutorials they are awesome.

The co-worker asked me if I could make one by September. Not sure if that was a stab at my not being productive lately or if she was just being generous with time.
