Etsy Store

I need to figure out how to blog from my iPhone so I keep you more up to date. The 14 bags of lawn cuttings and huge pile of branches by the curb are proof that I have been busy.

I created my Etsy account over two years ago but never put anything in the store. One of the ladies at my office has been pestering me nonstop to setup the store. She wanted to buy a couple things and I wouldn't take her money. I finally caved this weekend. Mason had some free time so I have put him in charge of that project. Of course with him going to the U of Memphis the tiger print hangers are his favorite. If you want to take a look in the store feel free to click here.

Someday List

And while I am at it. This one is on my "someday" list also.
The tutorial can be found here.

No sewing for me this weekend. Have a couple things to embroider tonight then heading out early in the morning for my in-laws in East TN for the weekend.

I Promise

A couple weeks ago I saw a post on a blog with cutest portable play bakery tutorial. Complete with its own oven and goodies to bake. Thinking to myself there are no little ones in my life that would make one for I moved on. Of course this morning I was talking to a co-worker and she was describing her niece playing tea party and it sounded like something perfect for her.

So now I am kicking myself for not sharing a link to it with all of you. If I had I wouldn't be scrambling to find the blog. How in the world am I going to figure out which blog I saw it one weeks ago? I wasn't even sure how many weeks ago I saw it. I started scrolling through my list of followed blogs trying to think who could have posted it. It did take a little hunting but when I saw the name ikatbag I knew she was so creative I had to go see it was her that posted the tutorial. Jackpot.

So here is the link to the portable bakery and from here on out I promise when I see super cute ideas I will post the link. And while you are there check out the other tutorials they are awesome.

The co-worker asked me if I could make one by September. Not sure if that was a stab at my not being productive lately or if she was just being generous with time.

Why Didn't I...

This falls under the category of "Why didn't I think of that?".

Ashley at Make It and Love It has the cutest tutorial for straps for flip flops. Wish I had some little ones around to make them for.

We don't need any more rain here in Memphis. The rivers are already flooding. But I really could use some yucky weather so I don't have to do yard work all weekend.

Play House Progress

I am slowly making progress on the twins play house. Door to the house and mailbox are ready to be sewn on.
The mail box will open so letters can be delivered.
From the Theater wall. With the curtain up.
And with the curtain down. The numbers are in a pocket of clear vinyl so they can be changed out. I gave up with the option of embroidering numbers. It became way too complicated.
And the pet shop wall is all finished. Clear window on the front so the girls can draw their own pictures for the shop.
And when their pictures aren't there a couple of cute puppies are available in the pet shop.

Hope everyone is enjoying their Easter weekend. We have avoided rain all weekend. I have been doing more yard work than sewing this weekend.

Spoiled

Can you tell the little furball is spoiled? Mason wasn't feeling good and Buttercup wouldn't leave him.

Catching Up

Feel like I am running behind and trying to catch up. Below are some of the towels I took to my Mom's last weekend. A Jedi and Sith robes for Mason's Italian project. I can't even begin to explain it. When they are done editing it I will try to post a link to the video. I even made a little Jedi robe for Buttercup.

Now back to working on the twins play house.

David and a friend are on the roof replacing a few shingles. Glad I don't have to be up there.

No More Sewing Today

Finished this guy before took Mason to lunch for his birthday.
I like him half out of the jar. Pretty cute.
I promise you I did not have any sake while we were at Benihana's. Look how crooked and off centered the frog is. Think I had better just hang it up for today. Scary part is I still need to bake Mason's cake. Almost hate to see how that turns out.

Trashy

Instead of throwing away the Chererios box and the mesh my cantaloupes came in I decided to recycle them into something more useful.
I can't take credit for either idea. I saw them both  somewhere online
The cereal box is now a magazine/pattern holder. Can you see the black cape in the upper right of that pattern. I have to get three of those done in the next 10 days.
And the mesh turned into a scrubbie I can use washing dishes. Just folded it over and over until I got the size I wanted and ran a simple stitch around it.
Got both of those done while this guy was stitching out on the embroidery machine. Then the thunder started. Turned off the embroidery machine pretty quick. Funny I don't mind using my laptop in the storm but don't want to lose the embroidery machine.
