Scrap Bags
I found this cute little tutorial on the web. 
And thought what a great way to use up some of my scraps. Picking zippers up today. These should make great Valentines presents for the girls in my office. I used the fusible fleece instead of batting. I have seven of them just waiting for zippers. Kim was eyeing them already.

New Project List
A week ago this was my project list:

All the projects are completely done except the Quilt. I did add a piano key boarder to it this weekend. As I mentioned before I am not fond of basting so I really didn't want to dive into that this weekend.
So what is my new project list? Well it really isn't a project but the goal is go use some of my fabric stash. Should be a good week to get a few things done without David around. Although those darn kids keep demanding my time. Gotta love 'em.

Before Noon
Mornings are more productive for me. For some reason I can get more done before noon than any other time of the day. I will blame my mother for that trait. And to make it worse I have passed it on to Mason. Not many soon to be seventeen year olds beg to get woke up by 6am. 
A better photo of the bag I made yesterday. I may actually have to write up a tutorial for this. It was so simple and turned out great. 
Double pocket detail on the inside of the bag.
Now I am loving the camera strap covers. Both made from scraps from the red, white and black quilts. Whipped up in 5 minutes. Used the fusible fleece for the padding. It was the perfect weight and quick.

Finally started and finished the Sakara bag this morning. Believe it or not I like to hand sew. I find it very relaxing. But this little bag was way to fussy for me. Sorry swap partner but this is what you are getting and I am throwing away the pattern instructions on this one.

Busy Saturday
David is gone on business until March. Actually he comes home for 10 hours to do laundry and sleep next weekend but that is all. The good news is I usually get lots done when he is gone. Mason took the ACT test this morning. The trip to UT Martin made an impact on him he now understands his future is determined by two numbers... his GPA and ACT score. 
Camera strap covers. Two completely done. Not overly impressed with them I will try a couple more of them.
The bears got hearts sewn on their butts. I think they will be part of The Toy Society.
The left overs from the Love is in the Air quilt were turned into a tote bag. I will try to get a better photos tomorrow in the day light. I used Pellon fusible fleece on this. Exhausting Day
I took Mason to UT Martin for a campus visit today. Nice to spend some time alone with him talking about his future. Not sure he was overly thrilled spending 5 hours in the car with me today. Renewed his driving permit on the way home. Had the chipped lens in my glasses replaced. And took Kim to the YMCA to get information on life guard certification. I need to go back to work tomorrow just to rest. I think it is the driving that wore me out.
David and I were talking on our cell phones yesterday afternoon and hastily tells me he has to call me back. I just knew he had gotten pulled over by a police officer for speeding. Well I have half right. He got pulled over by a police officer in an unmarked car but the officer was not from our town. And the police from our town saw it happen and stopped to investigate when they realized it wasn't a unmarked car in their jurisdiction. They pull up with flashing lights and guns drawn. It ended up being completely harmless. The first officer was a narcotics officer on his way home from work. He saw my husbands truck and wanted to know where he bought his rims and tires. Obviously he shouldn't have pulled David over, we all got a good laugh out of the story.

Oh Baby Baby
Look at this little sweetheart. Does anyone recognize her? It isn't me. I am working on a new photo scanning and video project.
Pot Holders and Surprise for Me
Pot holders with white I am still in disbelieve that I would actually do that.
But they are all made from scraps so if they don't last a month no great loss. 
And I forgot to show you what surprise I had waiting for me last week. I came home Friday after work to find this sitting in my chair. A digital video camera. It records to an SD card or a DVD disc. We have a trip planned over spring break and my husband wanted to make sure I was well equiped. Blog world look out I see videos coming soon.

Lots of WIP Now
As usual my weekends seem to fly by. I had some time to start and work on several projects. Now just to get some done. 
The start of pot holders using my itsy bitty scraps from the Love is in the Air quilt. Silly me who in their right mind uses white on pot holders. A nice pan of lasagna from the oven will surely destroy them.
With any luck these will turn into camera strap covers. I thought about Velcro or snaps to hold it around the existing strap but I really don't like those options. I will quilt it and then just sew it up into a long tube to cover the existing strap.
As I finished up the Love is in the Air quilt top over the weekend I found this underneath. It is all the scraps from the red, white and black quilt. Well not all the scraps but enough to make a good size doll quilt.
And the Love is in the Air quilt top hanging nicely over the back of a chair, taunting me to quilt it. I don't mind the quilting. It is the basting that I despise.
